The art of Kantha

The Imagine kantha capsule is hand sewn by our team of dedicated karegars (artisans) in Jaipur who help keep this precious tradition thriving.
Kantha is a traditional form of hand-stitched embroidery from India and Bangladesh, where layers of old saris or cloth are carefully quilted together with tiny, running stitches.
Each piece is a true work of love — soft, lightweight, and full of character — often telling stories or capturing memories through its delicate patterns. No two pieces are ever the same; their charm lies in their imperfections, their soulful touch, and the quiet history stitched into every thread.
Traditionally, Kantha was created by many hands — sometimes born out of necessity by those recycling old fabrics, sometimes as a way to earn a living, and sometimes simply as a joyful, creative pastime, much like patchwork.
Our beautiful team in Jaipur. Here we have Krishna (head), Rukmani, Jeevni, Sheela, Uma, and Santara creating these Kantha pieces.
