Ever since I worked in the Miranda Tree of Life boutique, I have loved experimenting with the different ways in which we can embody the bohemian. I have never been one to lean completely into the feminine, but have always loved balancing my paisley prints, embroidered dresses, oversized collars and little lacey details with something more gritty and tough, and now that I live in New York City this rings more true of my work and my style than ever before.
This shoot came together through a shared love of vintage 90s fashion, classic witchy movies (hello practical magic) and a desire to capture the energy of New York City while still being true to the Tree of Life girls. The muse for this shoot, Danielle, brings such a warmth and effortless coolness to every outfit, and together with my assistant/content queen/my second brain Abby, we wandered the streets of the West Village grabbing flowers and matchas and daydreaming about which townhouse we would want to live in (all while dodging taxis and tourists and Danielle's shoes literally falling apart on the last shot hahaha!)
My hope is that everyone who sees this shoot can imagine finding their favourite Tree pieces and spending the afternoon living out their New York Carrie Bradshaw-fantasies with us - because next time the invite is open!
